In case you didn't see, I've put up a questionnaire that I'm hoping will help me to improve my service to you. It's been up for a few days and already the answers are quite revealing, but I'll be posting the final results in the near future.
With the arrival of the clocks going forward the last time for private lessons has moved to 7pm, which means that you have a good opportunity to get some lessons in after work. I'll also be announcing some group courses that will be happening during the week, so best to subscribe to the RSS feed to get notified of those.
In case you didn't spot it, I built a high jump bar! Currently stuck at about 50cms but having so much fun trying to beat my best.
Here are a few courses that I'm going to be running in the next few months. Each one of these courses gives you access to the students area, which is like your own personal skating manual.
This is a 3 lesson course, costing just £30, that will give you everything you need to cope with the Sunday Stroll, or just to get you skating well.

As usual, the people behind the London Friday Night Skate & Sunday Stroll have arranged a weekend of skating events for Easter. There is the Long Goodnight Friday Skate (which is a ONE WAY skate this year), free skate lessons from some of the London instructors, and the Sunday Bunny Stroll. So get your bunny ears and cotton tails out, eat a load of chocolate eggs, and head out for 4 days of skating fun from April 10th-13th.
As if that's not enough, the LondonSkate season starts on Wednesday 15th April. Assemble on Serpentine Road, in Hyde Park, opposite the bandstand at 7:45pm for an 8pm departure on the weekly skate that has a great atmosphere, and typically louder music! Join the Facebook group to receive regular information.
This skate is FREE and it's a little faster than the Sunday Stroll, but give it a go if you're doing that skate because it's well worth it.
I've been wandering around the WWW looking for interesting skating articles and videos; so here's the best I've seen in recent weeks. Note that I am not responsible for the content of external third party websites or videos; some music and commentary found in such videos may contain language of an offensive nature.
If you have seen anything you think is interesting, contact me and I'll consider putting it into future newsletters.
I don't know if you remember but a while back I mentioned a new aggressive skate that was being made by Deshi. After a few months delay they're finally out in the shops of Europe. Priced at just shy of £200 (for just the boots!) the Deshi Carbons look incredible, just check out this photo comparing them to a trainer (that's the shoe on the right)!
Judging by the feedback from some of the worlds top aggressive skaters, and if they are that small and light, then these aggressive skates could change the manufacture of many of the top inline skates. The downside, if you're thinking about using these as freeride skates, is that they have a flat UFS setup, which means there are only a few frames that will actually fit them.
Anyway, they're in Loco Skates and I see a trip to Eastbourne in my near future!
This is the website of Matthew Denner, a UK based inline skating instructor. If you're looking to start skating, or improve your current skills, you should take a look around to see what I have to offer.
I try to make my courses goal oriented, whether that is being part of the larger street skating community, or just getting a number of skills that combine well together. I cater for all skill levels, from complete beginner through to competent skaters. When teaching private lessons I treat you as an individual, catering for your abilities and learning rate. And with those courses and lessons my students get their own students area page with access to notes, tips and drills.
For information on the lessons and courses I teach, or advice on skating in general, please feel free to use the contact form.
My service provider moved access to my website and I didn't get informed, hence the massive gap in updates to this site.
